Porter Roe, Counseling Intern

Therapist | He/Him

About Me

I was born and raised in Utah and am currently completing my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Northwestern University in Chicago Illinois. Before graduate school, I spent nearly a decade working in mental health treatment settings with adolescents and young adults. I believe therapy offers a rare kind of pause in life, a chance to reflect and find clarity without judgment.

I work with individuals who are navigating anxiety, identity questions, grief, trauma, life transitions and Scrupulosity OCD. Many of the people I sit with are trying to make sense of where they’ve come from, especially when that includes pain related to faith, family, or self-worth. I have a particular passion for supporting LGBTQ+ clients and those unpacking religious experiences that may have left lasting impacts. At the core of my work is a deep respect for people’s stories.

I believe in creating a space that’s warm, accepting, and free of judgment, where all parts of you are welcome. Therapy with me is a collaborative process rooted in honesty, compassion, and the belief that growth is possible, even when it feels out of reach.

Outside of therapy, I love caring for my houseplants, reading, and finding moments of stillness and humor in everyday life. I spend as much time as I can with my dog Copper, watching A24 films, and discovering cozy coffee shops.
